Regular readers will know that we have something of an obsession with The Stig. Sunday’s edition of Top Gear, then, was something of a revelation.
For the first time in the history of Stig-dom the famous helmet was removed to reveal the identity of everyone’s favourite tamed racing driver. Who would it be? Would it be the previously rumoured Ben Collins? The back-from-the-dead Elvis Presley?
No. Underneath the helmet was none other than….
The Black Stig – back from the deep?
Like the Kraken rising from the unspeakable depths, the Black Stig has made a reappearance. Last seen racing a jet on board the HMS Invincible in 2003, the Black Stig was thought to have met his watery end (which you can see here) when he went overboard. At 109mph. Read more
