Years ago, my grandmother presented me with a sparklingly sentimental Christmas card, proudly conferring upon me the title of ‘World’s Greatest Granddaughter’. Little did dear Nana foresee the ensuing conflict this would cause between Cousin Nicola and I upon discovering we had both received the same affectionate accolade. Fifteen years on, and the jury’s still out as to which of us is more deserving of the title.
I can’t help but think that, had Nana not allowed herself to fall victim to her local newsagent’s 2-for-1 offer, Granddaughter-gate might never have happened. This is, of course, a particularly extreme example of a Festive Faux-pas; however, the fact remains that nothing beats a personal touch- it’s the little details which make the difference. Read more

Regular readers will know that we have something of an obsession with The Stig. Sunday’s edition of Top Gear, then, was something of a revelation.
For the first time in the history of Stig-dom the famous helmet was removed to reveal the identity of everyone’s favourite tamed racing driver. Who would it be? Would it be the previously rumoured Ben Collins? The back-from-the-dead Elvis Presley?
