Father’s Day competition winner!
June 18, 2009 by Max · Leave a Comment
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner!
Our Father’s Day competition was drawn to a close on the stroke of midnight last night and we’ve been sorting through all the advice from Dads that poured in. There’s been some good, some bad, some strange, some very funny, some downright bizarre and a lot of people warned that they should never, ever, eat yellow snow. Thanks to everyone who entered: we all feel a little bit more wise after poring through the accumulated wisdom of the nation’s Dads.
There were so many good entries that the only way to judge the competition was to pull the name out of a hat. And by hat we mean a randomly selected name off our Giant Spreadsheet of Advice. And so our fabulous Father’s Day gift of a Single Seater Drive at Prestwold Hall goes to:
Cassidy Tucker of East Lothian
And the advice her Dad gave her?
“Don’t follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls!”
Congratulations Cassidy, we hope your Dad has a great time driving his single seater (and stays away from the walls!).

Father’s Day Competition 2009

We’re very pleased to announce the Father’s Day 2009 competition from Buyagift. If you’d like the chance to win your Dad a Single Seater Driving Thrill – and you’d be barmy not to because Father’s Day falls on the same day as the British Grand Prix this year – then all you have to do is answer one simple question:
What’s the best advice your Father has ever given you?
On the other hand, if you are yourself a Father then perhaps you’d like to share with the world your best piece of sage wisdom to be handed down from generation to generation. We asked around the office here at Buyagift HQ and some of the best pieces of advice our Dads have given us include:
- You can talk to yourself, that’s OK. Just don’t answer back.
- If you’ve got a migraine then drink more cider (we’re not sure that that is actually good advice)
- If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
- Never tie your shoelaces in a revolving door
Has your Dad given you better advice than this collection of slightly questionable tips? Or perhaps you are a Father and you wish to share the benefit of your sage wisdom with the world at large. Either way you can share your advice by entering the Father’s Day competition here:
Closing date is 17th June so that gives you a week to get your entries to us! – go go go!
(We’ll be posting some of the advice we receive on our Buyagift Twitter feed so check there for updates – and don’t forget to check out our Fathers Day Gifts also!)

As we’re still really pleased to be working with McDonald’s again in their McDonald’s Monopoly promotion we thought we’d try and give everyone a bit of a helping hand.
If you’re collecting stickers for the various prizes then you’ll want to know which ones are the rare McDonald’s Monopoly stickers and which ones are ten-a-penny.
(Of course, if you want to win one of the TWENTY £1000 SHOPPING SPREES that are on offer then they’re Instant Win… believe us, it’s one heck of a gift experience…)
To the best of our knowledge, the following stickers are the rare ones for the McDonald’s Monopoly Best Chance 2009 game
McDonald’s Monopoly 2009 – Best Chance
March 24, 2009 by Max · Leave a Comment
The new McDonald’s Monopoly 2009 game has started in the UK with some fabulous prizes to be won! This years game is called Best Chance Monopoly and is the most generous Monopoly game that McDonald’s have run so far: a whopping Big Mac-ing 1 in 3 tickets win a prize of some description. We’re pleased to be able to report that Buyagift.co.uk (the leading online retailer of gift experiences and once-in-a-lifetime days out) is once more a partner in this most tasty of contests.
And what, we hear you cry, are these fabulous prizes? Well, there’s some business with a £500k cash prize and houses and cars to be won but these are all small fries (*ahem*) in comparison to the sheer grandeur of winning ONE OF TWENTY £1000 SHOPPING SPREES FROM BUYAGIFT.
Yes, through the ordinary act of purchasing one of the qualifying products at McDonald’s you could find yourself on course to win a £1000 shopping spree!

Mothers Day Competition – Spoil your mum on us
March 16, 2009 by Max · Leave a Comment
There’s only a few days left before Mothers Day (this coming Sunday – March 22nd) but, more alarmingly, you only have until Wednesday 18th March to enter the Buyagift Mothers Day Competition.
The fabulous prize is a Pampering and Cream Tea for Two at the fabulous Elizabeth Arden spa in swanky Mayfair, London. The lucky winning mum will be indulged with a warm cream manicure, a professional shampoo and blowdry, a make-up refresher and then a wickedly decadent cream tea. The very best part about this is that as it’s a “for two” package then your mum gets to take her bestest friend along as well.
And you are of course your mum’s bestest friend so….
Taking part is simple. All you have to do is go to the Mothers Day Competition page (which you can also get to from the Mothers Day Gifts page) and tell us simply why your mum deserves to win. What could be simpler?
Don’t forget that the closing date is Wednesday 18th March so get your entries in soon!
