Tear around Silverstone…the legal way- driving days
February 2, 2010 by Ian

In an ideal world I’d quite like to score a winning goal at Wembley Stadium, headline Glastonbury and swim the English channel. But, unless I suddenly turn into Frank Lampard, join the Arctic Monkeys or become the great…err, swimmer, David Walliams, there’s more chance of those famous pink farm animals sprouting wings and circumnavigating the globe. But Mark Freeman and Cassy Lake from Plymouth dared to think differently.
The very idea of a rusty old van circulating the prestigious and, supposedly, well protected Silverstone track, sounds like a scene from an episode of the ‘60s cartoon Wacky Races. But last June on the eve of the British Grand Prix, Mr Freeman and Ms Lake managed to blag their van past three race marshals before tearing it around the track twice. To top things off, the crafty pair even gave an exhausted Murray Walker a lift.
Now, unless you’re planning a similar ploy this July,* the best way of getting on to the Silverstone would be via one of our fantastic driving days at Silverstone. Plus, who wants to drive a rusty old van when you can get behind a Supercar anyway? Check out our impressive range of driving days over at Buyagift.co.uk.
*Not something we would recommend. They’ll probably be watching with aggressive looking dogs, search lights and other stuff, this time.
