pandaAs much as the more frugal among us hate to admit it, £10 won’t get you too far nowadays. With the cost of almost everything apparently rising by the minute, it seems more and more that you have to spend a fortune to get anything worth buying.

Here at Buyagift, we don’t like the idea of our customers paying more than they have to. We can’t reduce the price of your phone bill or give you a discount on your next takeaway, but we can certainly offer you great bargains on experience gifts!

More than just an brilliant pun, Payday Panda-monium is your chance to experience a wide range of exciting activities for the mere price of £10. Available from 10am to midnight this Friday, we’re offering a brilliant range of gifts at an amazing discount price. And why are we doing this? Partly to celebrate the end of the month, partly because we’ve fallen completely in love with Pandas (check out this guy for a reason why), and mostly because we just want to give you, our loyal Buyagift customers, a treat you deserve.

Prepare for blast off with our great galactic gifts!

moon-estatesJust like almost every other person on the planet, the majority of us here at Buyagift would like nothing more than to take a rocket to the moon. Unfortunately though, that’s unlikely to happen soon – it can take several years to become a fully trained astronaut, and besides, we’d probably all fail the fitness test. If we were able to blast into space though, we’d now have a new reason to be excited, as NASA’s newest test rocket is preparing to launch. Read more

Take on the stars with a Segway racing experience

October 22, 2009 by Tim · Leave a Comment

segwayFun, fast and unusual – the Segway is a truly unique vehicle, and now even the celebrities are having a go! Always up for a challenge, the presenters of BBC Radio One tried their hand at steering a Segway today, as they took turns racing around the office.

Scott, Fearne, Becky and Chappers, the resident hosts of the station’s Scott Mills Show, raced for glory as they commanded the corners of the Radio One basement in a bid to find out just who was the fastest. The crew enjoyed themselves greatly, despite the fact that their efforts ranged from bad (Becky spent the majority of her lap screaming) to worse (Chappers managed to fall off the Segway while it was stationary). Derek from Dudley went a bit too far on his Christmas decorations this year...

While we here at Buyagift would hardly count ourselves as style icons (think more Joe Bloggs than Luis Vuitton), we like to think that we can tell the difference between a work of art and a design disaster. It’s not that we’re adverse to donning feather boas and purple jumpsuits; it’s just that we appreciate the value of subtlety and simplicity – something that especially applies to Christmas decorations. audi-r8Just like Roy Castle and Kriss Akabusi, we here at Buyagift love the idea of breaking records. Enjoy a festive feast without the effort- Cheap Christmas hampers

October 22, 2009 by Tim · Leave a Comment

cheap-hamperThere comes a time in every person’s life when they are given the charming opportunity (or cruel burden, depending on your opinion) to get involved with cooking Christmas dinner. An important tradition that often forms the centrepiece of many family’s big day, there’s little more satisfying than roasting the turkey to perfection and delicately preparing the pudding – unless, of course, it goes wrong.

The first time I donned the oven mitts and attempted to take charge in the kitchen was in my early teens. Having already suffered a few minor culinary setbacks, I was determined to prove cookery credentials, and so aided by my mother (who, unknown to me, had decided to spend the afternoon sneaking sips of mulled wine) I set about creating a luxurious festive feast. Everything was going brilliantly, and I even managed to get everything out of the oven without starting a fire, which was, for me, an impressive feat. Read more

Send yourself into (bohemian) rhapsody with a rocking theatre trip

October 16, 2009 by Tim · Leave a Comment

we-will-rock-youLoud, proud, and almost ridiculously over-the-top – what wasn’t there to love about Queen? While poodle-haired guitar maestro Brian May recently brought the band’s legacy back to life (he and drummer Roger Taylor collaborated with Bad Company vocalist Paul Rodgers to produce a new album), the most potent memory of queen lies with the image of the late, great Freddie Mercury.

The moustached King of camp truly embraced the theatrical with his performances, and boasted one of the most impressive voices in rock history. Penning classic songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions and Radio Ga-Ga, Queen have influenced countless aspiring musicians and will forever remain as one of Britain’s finest musical achievements.
