Don’t get me wrong, I loved the camaraderie… but being goalie you can understand my bitterness when it comes to that green field of dreams. Rather than pacing up front to steal victory (proudly punting a rather deflated ball through the back of a worn net) I stood cold and wet on the line, raising my head every few moments each time the whisper of anything remotely spherical came hurtling through the fog. They were Ireland’s answer to the Duracell Bunny and loved/hated throughout both the UK and Ireland. But now Jedward, voted off the X factor last night, have departed our screens. Their “unique” renditions of the theme from Ghostbusters and Robbie William’s ‘Rock DJ’ had both admirers and haters, but what were you?

An out-rage-ously good driving day!- Rage Buggy Driving Experience!
November 17, 2009 by Ian · Leave a Comment
It’s strong, fast and very, very angry. No, I’m not talking about heavyweight champion David Haye, I’m talking about Silverstone’s latest mind-blowing driving experience. Yes, I’m talking about the Rage Buggy.
Possessing a name similar to a vehicle of transportation for highly aggressive infants, the Rage Buggy is the pinnacle in off road exhilaration. Boasting a top speed of 45mph and with better handling than a overly friendly, multi armed Samaritan, you’ll tackle banked corners, jumps, hair pins and sand traps on Silverstone’s purpose–built buggy course. Make this Christmas a green one- Environmental gift wrapping!
November 13, 2009 by Ian · Leave a Comment
When it comes to receiving a Christmas present there is simply nothing that beats the thrill of unwrapping a present. Feeling the hidden object’s dimensions, secretly guessing what it could be, removing the wrapping paper and revealing your very own surprise. But we’re a environmentally friendly lot here at Buyagift HQ and we think that wrapping paper is, well, SO last year!
Furoshiki is the eco-friendly alternative to wrapping paper, cellotape and scissors. Originating from Japanese culture, cloth is used to wrap the gift performing a technique not too dissimilar to Origami. These cloths are reusable and multipurpose; an excellent way of reducing unnecessary waste that typically follows the Christmas period. Read more
Go ape…Krypton Factor style- Go Ape experiences!
November 12, 2009 by Ian · Leave a Comment
As a young lad growing up in the mid-90s, I was obsessed by the Krypton Factor. Every Friday evening I could be found on my Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles beanbag, attention fixed firmly on who was going to win the assault course challenge that week. The cargo net, the rope bridge, the zip wire- it was incredible! Only a genius could take such a sublime format and build upon it. Well, the Go Ape! people have done just that.
With 22 locations UK wide, Go Ape! is a series of activities, zip wires and cargo nets securely built into the upper regions of a forest. Maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and security, you’ll emulate our furry cousins by making your way between trees. Read more
